Founded in 1977 by Dr. Roger Pecina, Afdent began as "Affiliated Family Dentists" with a mission to prioritize patient well-being above all else, regardless of their dental history or financial circumstances.
As the practice expanded, it became known as Afdent, and a second location was established right here in Fort Wayne, expanding beyond a single practice to further meet the dental care needs of our community. Our core philosophy of "Patient Friendly Dentistry" caught on with the local community and helped fuel our growth into the comprehensive dental provider we are today. Our Mishawaka location now occupies three buildings on a dedicated campus, while our Fort Wayne office spans three floors, reflecting our commitment to serving the community and providing all of our patients' dental care needs in one location.
Dr. Pecina continues to see patients, working alongside a team of over 20 associate dentists and nearly 300 dedicated dental and administrative professionals. Afdent is a respected member of both the Mishawaka and Fort Wayne business communities and has earned national recognition within the dental field. Now, we've been Northern Indiana's Dental Health Partner for over 40 years and have become Northern Indiana’s and Southern Michigan’s only Exclusive Certified Mini Dental Implant Center of America!
